Barry Feinstein was the exclusive tour photographer on Bob Dylan and The Band's legendary 1966 and 1974 World Tours. In this documentary feature film, Feinstein and Director Joel Gilbert chronicle these epic Bob Dylan tours, featuring over 150 selections of Feinstein's finest portraits - most revealed for the first time - in this extraordinary document of Bob Dylan and rock music history.
For the years in between, Gilbert visits Woodstock and Greenwich Village, New York, where he investigates Dylan's secluded life before his return to the road in 1974. Gilbert recreates the singer-songwriter's 1966 motorcycle accident, pays a visit to Big Pink, examines Dylan's first encounter with The Beatles, and even confronts fanatic Dylanologist A.J. Weberman. Interviews with filmmaker D.A. Pennebaker, rock journalism godfather Al Aronowitz, Band drummer Mickey Jones and surprise guests help reveal Bob Dylan's hidden history behind Feinstein's astonishing images.
Photographer Barry Feinstein has created many of the entertainment industry's most compelling images. His work has appeared in Life, Look, Time, Esquire, and Newsweek. He has received over thirty U.S. and international art director and photo- journalism awards. He was cameraman on Easy Rider and Monterey Pop, and director of the 60's cult classic You Are What You Eat. Barry Feinstein has photographed Presidents Kennedy, Nixon, Johnson, and Carter, and cinema legends Marilyn Monroe, Steve McQueen, Marlene Diertrich, and Marlon Brando. His photographs of musicians include classic images of Donovan, George Harrison, Janis Joplin, Miles Davis, and of course Bob Dylan...
Director Joel Gilbert also directed and produced the documentary feature Bob Dylan 1966 World Tour, The Home Movies.
Gilbert performs as Bob Dylan in Highway 61 Revisited, the world's only Bob Dylan Tribute Band, and is the author of The Acoustic Bob Dylan, His Music Styles and Guitar Techniques.

| Daddy And The Muscle Academy (Tom Of Finland) |
$19.95 |
| |
|
|
This film gives voice to the life and creative impulse of the gay erotic artist known throughout the homosexual world as Tom of Finland. Featuring an interview with the artist himself, filmed shortly before he died, Daddy and the Muscle Academy is a unique view into a man’s mysterious world.
Tom describes his early life in the Finnish army, in mundane jobs and, matter-of-factly, how he became inspired to put onto paper his exagerrated masculine fantasies of men in leather, uniforms and workwear.
Most of the interview is shot in the stillness of Tom's apartment/studio, with the film broken into segments centering on themes of his work: depiction of black men and women, technique, use of models and leather as his muse: "I put on a special outfit", he explains, "if I need to be inspired".
The film also features brief commentaries from friends and critics, illustrating just how deeply Tom's fantasies have become the primers for the post-war emergent gay subcultures of Leather/SM, with all their knock-on influence on wider cultural consciousness. While outsiders may not relate to Tom's proclivities, they will be moved by his integrity and skill in realising his fantasies.
